History

The Division of Conservation’s annual report in 1940 stated: “At the Greene-Sullivan State Forest the WPA will construct a fire tower”. The annual report of 1941 reports that “On the Greene-Sullivan State Forest which is also a strip coal land demonstration area, a one hundred foot steel fire tower was erected”. Therefore it seems that the tower was erected in later 1940 or 1941.

Since this tower is on the 1944 topo, I assume the tower existed in 1944.
